For me, painting is about jumping wholeheartedly into the unknown. A process full of tension, frustration, dead-ends, discovery and delight.
A conversation between my conscious self, Creative Self, and the world.
A way of stretching an idea, word, assumption, perception, or moment. Playing with the push-pull of colour, shape, value, line and texture. Watching for what’s revealed.
A way of understanding, and opening up to possibility.
I love the surprise, the connection, the feeling of being lost in flow.
Titles don’t appear until the end. Maybe, just maybe, for some of us, the paintings might continue to be windows of connection, fresh meaning making and insight, over time. A nice hope anyway.
